SCPA offers a range of volunteer roles supporting debt advice, employment help and community outreach. Alongside new part‑time staff, volunteers can serve as Companions, Befrienders or First Responders, providing practical and relational support to clients. Roles vary in commitment and training needs, helping SCPA meet growing demand across East Suffolk.
Role Opportunities
There are several ways that you can support SCPA in a volunteer role. For details please contact doug.fletcher@scpa.uk
Thanks to a generous benefactor we have recently appointed two members of part time staff:
Debt Coach – working with CAP-UK to help those struggling with unmanageable debt.
Employment Support Manager – organising and running group & individual sessions for people looking for help with employment.
Companions: We often need someone to accompany our trained staff on a home visit to client. No training is required but is available if desired. Companions will need to be DBS checked. This role does not require any long-term commitment, each visit is arranged by mutual consent.
Befrienders:
First Responders
